Multiwavelength Signatures of Episodic Nullpoint Reconnection in a Quadrupolar Magnetic Configuration and the Cause of Failed Flux Rope Eruption

Abstract In this paper, we present multiwavelength observations of the triggering a failed-eruptive M-class flare from active region NOAA 11302 and investigate possible reasons for associated failed eruption. Photospheric nonlinear force-free field extrapolated coronal magnetic revealed that flaring had complex quadrupolar configuration with preexisting nullpoint situated above core field. Prior to onset flare, observed multiple periods small-scale flux enhancements in GOES RHESSI soft X-ray location nullpoint. The preflare evolution reported here are similar configurations presented breakout model, but at much lower heights. was characterized by presence two ropes double-decker configuration. During impulsive phase one initially started erupting, resulted Calculation decay index saddle-like profile where increased torus-unstable limits within heights ropes, then decreased rapidly reached negative values, which most likely responsible eruption rope.
